About
Allen Allen
Allen Allen, nicknamed the "A-Bomb", earned the name while playing volleyball for the University of Hawaii. Intitially Allen received a full ride sholarship to play football for the Warriors despite playing only one year in high school, but he turned it down to pursue his new found love, volleyball. With only one year of volleyball experience at Castle High, Kaneohe, Hawaii, Allen earned a spot on the Warriors volleyball squad. With his explosive power, passion for the game and a tireless work ethic, the A-Bomb rewrote numerous school records, both offensively and defensively and helped push the men's program into the forefront of men's volleyball, transforming them into a powerhouse.
After leading the Warriors to national prominence, Allen moved to San Diego to train with the USA Olympic Team, competing in over 200 international matches througout the world. After a four year stint with the US team, Allen pursued a professional career on the Pro Beach Tours (ABVL & FIVB) and the European Pro League (Slovakia), where he continued to hone his volleyball skills as an athlete as well as a student of the game. In 1998, Allen officially retired from professional competition. In his own words "It was time... After 15 years of playing year round, I needed other challenges." Thus, the birth of Allen Allen Club Volleyball.
Of all his accomplishments the thing he is most proud of is receiving a trophy for "The Best Shagger In The World" from a girls volleyball camp he ran in Oregon. The A-Bomb enjoys sharing his experiences from his many journeys with today's young people. "Seeing other people succeed and knowing you had a part in that success is one of the best highs that one can experience." Allen now brings the same passion, commitment and love that made him one of the best players in the world to the participants of Allen Allen Club Volleyball.
